Venue: NSPCC National Training Centre

There are over 160,000 autistic students in schools across England with over 70% of these students in a mainstream school. The number of students with an EHC plan rose by 10% in 2021, but the number of students with SEN support has increased by less than 0.5% in the same period. School activities in mainstream settings may be particularly challenging for these students – social interactions, noisy or disordered environments, intense sensory stimulation, changes in expected routines etc. It's important to understand these barriers to learning so that appropriate support can be put in place.

This face-to-face course at the NSPCC National Training Centre in Beaumont Leys is designed to advance your autism knowledge, provide an overview of behaviour management and engagement strategies for students with autism, and advise in respect of supporting emerging need.

The specific content of the course will be adapted to meet the needs of attendees so please ensure you complete the following pre-course Training Needs Analysis HERE when registering for your space.

Presented by Matthew Corrigan and Joanna Binley, East Midlands Community Forensic CAMHS.

Book your place via Eventbrite. The training is FREE to attend.
