Social Media, Body Image & Self Esteem

With the majority of young people now living their lives through social media and an online audience, it is essential for schools to be able to teach the importance of using this in a correct, safe way but also vital for settings to be aware of how to support any negative issues around body image and self-esteem as early as possible when they arise.

This training assists attendees to:

  • Learn how media and social media can influence how we see ourselves
  • Become aware of how images are changed to look more appealing
  • Gain knowledge of the pros and cons of social media and how to manage this
  • Look at resources and gain new ideas for positive body-image and self-esteem boosting activities
  • Learn how to support young people to address any difficulties and feel more positive and kinder towards themselves
  • Help them to identify their inner strengths and skills with self-compassion

Learning Outcomes:

  • Take part in fun, engaging learning activities
  • Gain helpful advice and guidance
  • Share good practice with others
  • Come away with plenty of resources and ideas
  • Be able to apply strategies within your own settings to support others
