Brook has been commissioned by Leicestershire County Council to deliver a tiered RSHE support programme for primary and secondary schools in Leicestershire and Rutland. Through this localised and tailored training offer, Brook will support schools to deliver high quality and holistic statutory RSHE, in line with the DfE guidance, increase the skills and confidence of teachers and help meet the needs of young people locally.

Talking to young people about their sexual health can be a challenging experience. In this training, we draw on our 55 years of expertise of talking to young people about their sexual health. The aim of this training is for professionals to understand the importance of inclusive RSHE for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), and how it can be achieved.

All young people have the right to learn about relationships and sex, yet the education may have to be delivered differently. Discussing methods and challenges will allow you to facilitate conversation and provide appropriate education for young people with additional learning needs .

By the end of the training participants will;

  • Have increased their knowledge around the need for inclusivity.
  • Have an understanding of laws and policies protecting and educating those with SEND.
  • Understand the importance of age and stage appropriate sessions and differentiation.
  • Understand the role parents/carers can play within teaching the curriculum.

THIS TRAINING IS OPEN FOR TEACHERS IN LEICESTERSHIRE & RUTLAND PRIMARY & SECONDARY SCHOOLS ONLY AND WE WILL VERIFY YOUR LOCATION WITH YOU PRIOR TO THIS EVENT.
