Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is an internationally recognised training course, designed to teach people how to spot the signs and symptoms of mental ill health and provide help on a first aid basis. At MHFA England we offer a range of courses tailored for people who teach, work, live with and care for people who may experience poor mental health. The courses can be attended by anyone from age 16 upwards. Each and every MHFA England course is delivered by a quality assured Instructor Member.
This short introductory course is designed to increase school staff awareness of their own and other adults mental health and some of the issues that can affect this age group.
Through an interactive instructor-led live session, you will learn:
– What mental health is and how to challenge stigma
– An introduction to some common mental health issues
– Confidence to support someone who may be experiencing mental ill health
– Ways to look after your own mental health and support wellbeing
Places on this FREE course are limited to 1 place per school, we would therefore encourage staff that attend this course to provide feedback to colleagues and share their wider learning in school.
if you would like further information about this course, or have any queries please contact Madeleine McNeil at madeleine.mcneil@leics.gov.uk.
