Leadership in Relationships & Sex Education for Primary Schools
Date: Wed, 10th Feb 2021, 09:30 - 16:00
Venue: Online Via Zoom
Many schools will be revising their curriculum in light of the most recent OFSTED framework, Covid and the requirements for statutory relationships (and sex) and health education, within the wider framework of PSHE.
Any one of these three drivers would make the leadership of R(S)HE/PSHE a priority, but the coincidence of all three means that this is even more important and can make a significant contribution to the curriculum impact and outcomes for children.
The course will cover the core elements of good practice in relationships, sex and health education R(S)HE and help participants clarify their plans for embedding this in a whole school approach.
Depending on the needs of the group, we will discuss the key aspects of legislation, DfE guidance and Ofsted; effective approaches to audit R(S)HE and identify key local data to inform curriculum planning; Parental engagement and consultation; leadership styles; identifying CPD needs, assessment and monitoring the curriculum.
