Venue: Beaumanor Hall
78% of young people experience a significant bereavement during childhood, and every school has grieving pupils, staff and family to support from time to time.
This course was developed in partnership with Leicestershire schools, bereavement charities, and other experts. It covers a wide range of topics including supporting bereaved pupils, staff, and families. The course looks at the practical support schools can offer and how staff can best provide support in the short, medium, and long term.
In addition the course covers whole-school preparedness for communicating at times of bereavement, bereavement in the curriculum, good practice, policy, memorials, and the importance of using the right language. This course is suitable for heads, teachers, and pastoral staff. Delegates also receive comprehensive guidance and materials to share in school.
