Young Carer's rights promised in new Carer's Charter

Young Carer's rights promised in new Carer's Charter

This week saw the signing of a brand new Carer's Charter that sets out what all young carers can expect when they access services and support.

This mandate, put together by young carers, has been endorsed by the Directors of both the Children and Young People's Service and Adults and Communities Department of Leicestershire County Council and the Cheif Executive of Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust and University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust.

In recognising young carers, we will ensure that they are identified; their voice heard and met.  This includes care, recognition, support, information and training for young carers and all staff who come into contact with them.

If you would like more information or a copy of the charter for your school, please contact, youngcarers@leics.gov.uk
