Teaching Consent in 21st Century for Secondary Schools - training

This full day training is an opportunity for SRE and PSHE leads from schools across the county to develop their SRE practice and in particular to identify practical strategies to address issues affecting secondary age pupils as they experience adolescence in modern Britain.
The training will be facilitated by Lucy Emmerson, Coordinator of the Sex Education Forum.
 

  • Monday 9th February 2015 Beaumanor Hall, Woodhouse
  • Wednesday 1st July 2015 College Court, Knighton Rd, Leics


All sessions will start at 10am & finish at 4pm – tea/coffee on arrival at 9.45am
The course is FREE and lunch will be provided.
 

AIMS
• Consider the sex and relationships education (SRE) needs of secondary school age pupils
• Identify how particular issues such as consent, sexting and pornography can be addressed within a planned programme of SRE
• Assess the value of a selection of resources to support teaching on these issues
• Develop understanding of good practice in SRE
• Clarify understanding of relevant legislation and requirements
