One way the Leicestershire Healthy Schools Programme supports schools is by offering training to help staff develop the skills and confidence necessary to improve health through health education and initiatives within school.
Training courses are run on a wide range of topics including drug education, sex and relationship education, policy development and promoting physical activity. In addition we offer a number of one to one sessions on topics such as action planning or target setting to support schools in their journey to achieve National Healthy Schools Status.
We also recognise that an important source of information and support comes from other schools so we frequently organise networking opportunities for schools to share ideas and best practice. For examples of best practice in other schools please click here or visit the case studies section of this site.

In this section you will find example school policies, useful templates and copies of key national guidance.
In autumn 2006 the process of self validation was introduced to minimise bureaucracy.
This section is aimed at giving parents more information around the healthy schools issues.
