Vulnerable Groups

Being a member of a vulnerable group is a risk factor for children and young people’s emotional health.

The following groups may be particularly vulnerable. Our links page contains a list of Websites and organisations offering support and information for vulnerable groups.
 

  • Children in care
  • Young carers
  • Bereaved children and young people
  • Children and young people with mental health problems
  • Children with learning difficulties
  • Children with disabilities
  • Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender students
  • Young Parents
  • Young offenders
  • Children and young people living in relative poverty
  • Children and Young people who are victims of neglect, or living in homes with domestic violence or substance misuse
  • Black and minority ethnic children and young people facing prejudice or experiencing barriers to participation (including refugees and asylum seekers.) Also some Gypsies, Travellers and Emerging Communities.
