Why don’t you…
1. Have a staff meeting or three to paint/improve the staffroom. Provide pizzas etc.
2. Allow staff to opt-in if they wish to receive e-mail outside of work hours, but assume that they would rather not.
3. Have a ‘secret buddies’ week where staff are assigned a secret partner who will leave nice treats around for them.
4. De-clutter the staffroom, and make it a place of calm by removing stressful work reminders such as shelves full of files/overload of info re: assessment, deadlines etc.
5. Encourage use of school recreation facilities for staff social activities.
6. Recognise staff achievements in schools newsletter-including outside interests.
7. Find a way of capturing all the positive comments people have said about the school or staff—and display them proudly.
8. Have a wellbeing suggestions box for staff-and make a point of implementing at least one suggestion each half term.
9. Have a staff meeting focussed on communication skills, and how to relate to difficult pupils.
10. Have an early cut-off time on a Friday (4.00?) and provide a social activity at that time.
